The hospital’s goal was to extend the high quality family-centered care that it provides to families beyond its clinical operations and into its public spaces. The hospital’s enhanced environment was designed to support both family and staff needs, helping to promote positive and familiar experiences. The design concept was to "bring the outdoors indoors" by pulling natural elements like light, shadow, and color into the public and private spaces to create a warm and friendly environment. Opened June 2012.
